I am, and always have been, a crazy cat lady. No matter my age nor my marital status, I am crazy about my cats. Any time I can show off or simply talk about my cats, I take the opportunity. I saw this Tweet of someone painting their nails based on the colours of their cat, and wanted to try it for myself!
Out of the three cats currently in my care, one is all black, and one is tuxedo. Which leaves the special tabby boy. I looked to my sweet Beric for a more colourful challenge with this trend.
Starting with his gorgeous green eyes, I selected a colour from Holo Taco that was inspired by a different furbaby's green eyes. Beric's eyes are not an exact match, his being more blue-toned green, but I didn't think to mix a custom colour until it was all done.
I picked out two shades to represent his multicoloured coat: an off-white and a warm grey. I chose a shimmery grey, thinking that it would encompass more that one tone of fur. I made them matte just like his soft fur!
Beric has the most unique coloured nose. Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Sepia was a close match - but is not a nail polish. The closest cool-toned taupe-brown polish I have in my collection is "Fois Gras" from Chinaglaze, which is a little darker and cooler than Beric's boopable nose colour.
And voila; with an eye shade, nose shade, and 2 fur shades, I have my Beric nail polish palette. He was not a willing model at first, but with enough chin scritches, he came around.
